Our Teachers

Lenka loves making music more than anything else. Since early childhood she has always been involved in one musical project or another - singing in choirs, playing the piano and the guitar. She got to know and grew to love the Music Together® program when she worked as a nanny and brought different children in her care to MT classes. She became a Music Together trained and registered teacher in 2007 and taught with her own son in her lap for 2 years. She has found that not only is she able to see the music through the eyes of the children thanks to this, but also can better relate to the grown ups in class who have their hands full.

Lenka's son Filip is fluent in three languages -  Czech, English and the language of music. He is the living proof of how much a child who has been exposed to a rich musical environment on an ongoing basis will thrive in different areas of development. In August 2010, The Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ awarded Lenka Music Together Certification Level I status for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy, and parent education. Lenka completed the "Introduction To Dalcroze" course at The Dalcroze Institute of Bard College in June 2012. Becoming an owner and director of Music Together of Belmont in 2014 was a fulfillment of her long time dream. Lenka teaches many mixed age classes, but also specializes in a Pre-crawling Babies class for infants under 8 months of age. She teaches in several preschools and loves to entertain at children's musical birthday parties on weekends.

Rhonda found in Music Together® what she desired for many years, the opportunity to marry two great loves, working with children in early childhood, and doing it through music.  Rhonda has been involved in music her whole life, but had never quite witnessed children learning music in the non formal, participatory fashion that Music Together encourages.  She says, “Finding this program was kind of like finding home: it spoke to the child within, and immediately I felt thrilled to have the opportunity to share music in this way with our community.”

Rhonda has been formally trained in voice and has participated in many dramatic productions.  Rhonda has led various children’s programs and even entertained as a clown.  She has also worked in early childhood education as a preschool teacher.

In March 2006, Rhonda was awarded Music Together Certification Level I for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education.  In the summer of 2005 she received her Certification I from the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, an international organization of professional music educators.  She is also a member of The Children's Music Network and has studied Dalcroze Eurythmics at the Longy School of Music.
